Mead Cocktail @ The CN Tower

“View from the Top” – A complex refreshing cocktail featuring Spiced Mead from Rosewood Estates Winery in Niagara. Flavours of beeswax, Star Anise and other warm spices. White Cranberry is added to give a tart boost to the sweetness of the mead. Lime for acidity and a dash or orange bitters to bring brightness and play on the honey/orange compliment.

The General Manager of Restaurants (at the CN Tower) wanted to find something that spoke to Toronto and they were inspired by what you can see from the top.  They wanted to feature something from an area that they could physically point out to guests from the restaurant.

On a clear day you can see the Niagara area, where the spiced mead is made at Rosewood Estates Winery.

Dillion’s Vodka is distilled in the Niagara area from Niagara grapes and was a natural building block for the drink.

The creation of the drink happened instantly in real time. Rosewood’s Beekeeper & General Manager brought some Spiced Mead to a meeting in hopes of having it find it’s way onto our dessert wine list.  When the CN Tower F&B team tasted it they couldn’t believe what they had.  They immediately added some ingredients and developed the drink on the spot.

Both the CN Tower team and the supplier were amazed at the instant creativity. As a bonus, the limited edition Canada 150 glass is yours to take home when you’ve ordered the cocktails. This feature will run at the CN Tower for a limited time due to the limited production of Spiced Mead, be sure to try it for yourself!

Cheers and Happy Birthday Canada!
